paint thinning

Hey Tom: I just went through your posting on weathering rolling stock. I have one question. This is the second time I have seen something about thinning paint with windshield washer. Is this technique good for all craft type acrylic paint? also is the green stuff the same as the blue stuff. could you briefly advise why it is better to use wiper fluid? thanks again and this looks like a great forum. I am not sure 100% why it works; it just does for me. The blue windshield wiper fluid has some alcohol in it and some folks have theorized that is why it works. It was suggested to me by several people when I was having trouble with paint separating with some other thinners such as Polly Scale airbrush thinner. Also I tried Distilled water but it look chalky to me and I did not like the results.

I am not familiar with a green windshield wiper fluid.
