SSR Christmas Train

On Saturday, Dec. 2, my two sons and I had a great trip on the Christmas train at the South Simcoe Railway in Tottenham. After our ride, I suddenly realized that we could 'chase' the train by car down the line and get some good views of it at various road crossings.

Well, we got two really good views of it just north of Tottenham. One, in particular, was excellent -- a very striking shot of the train with lots of smoke billowing out, against a dark blue sky. The sky, in particular, was a mixture of purple/dark clouds and blue sky, so the contrast with the smoke, etc., was awesome. The late-afternoon, low angle, sunlight on the train also added to the effect. If I get a chance this week or next week, I'll try to post this shot.

It's often just as much fun watching steam trains as riding in them!

Thanks, guys. I've just posted some pix on a separate thread. It was great watching this loco steam by, even though it was only going about 15 mph! Rob
