curve radius is most often limited by locomotives rather than cars. My guess is the cars will work on 15" radius, but it may be difficult to find an engine to operate on anything less. So, while the cars may take a slightly smaller radius, you locomotive won't.

well the spectrum Decapod will take 12" radius curves (the smallest we have in the UK) quite comfortably as wil my Mehano Heavy Mountain so i would say you will probably find most locomotives (steam and diesel) will take sharper curves than the manufacturer suggests, albeit not at a high speed, but then logging trains are supposed to be slow!
I just ran a pair of the log cars through an 15" radius S curve. The cars had no problem, no coupler strain. I doubt that any of the locos will like 15" radius.
