Source for old valve gear

I may well be out of luck here, but I have several old (I'd say 1960's or 70's at best) steam locos - Varney, Rivarossi - which are in fine running condition except that the valve gear is long gone... I like them because they have very, very heavy diecast bodies and pull like a Son-of-a...well... they pull great. Any idea on a source to try and replace the missing valve gear?

For the Varney locos. Check with Bowser trains.

They have the tooling for a few of the old varney locos an well as a selection of siderods and valve gear parts to choose from.
As for Rivarossi you may have to search the trainshows for a "junker" to salvage parts from. I have modified valve gear parts from IHC locomotives to fit.

Which locos do you need? I have a Riv. 2-8-0 where all the cast metal parts have disintegrated, including the lower part of the motor that was in the tender. I think the wheels and valve gear are OK.
