    Spaceagent,

Sorry I haven't been around to comment on you fine work! The Romulan Bird of Prey looks fantastic - especially with the LEDS! I especially like the pic that shows the light spreading out from the front of the command section. One of these days I'm going to have to learn how to do that.

    Great job!:Bravo:

im thinking of using a very ridged cylinder under the crew section for it to rotate on, then a simple rubber band pulley style, and in the base an axle with a thumb paddle on the end

need to stay motivated. so im just going to post my daily progress on some models. still figuring out how to spin the Babylon 5 Agamemnon crew quarters. also the enlargement of Rawen's 50th enterprise is going pretty slow due mostly to flimsy card stock. I thought cardboard would work, but there are other problems. I am thinking to just go with RonC's instead, for the size , but the double sized Rawen might work out- I just need to print it. got some other stuff going too.

I say reinforce or double laminate some of the pieces. Maybe you should go up to 200 g cardstock and laminate that. Should take care of any strength issues. Looking forward to when you get the center section to rotate for the Omega.

I have two choices in available card stock, what's on sale at staples, lol
    and metallic thicker kind.
im going to try to print the double size Rawen50th and see if I like that, I think I can do the ecandle lighting on it, if I tube stack them [stand by to see what that is]
I also am thinking that chipstock in thin strips laid in might work as a cheap quick support,
I will try it on my warbird extra huge rescale.
and I have the vector stargazer at about 2 1/2 feet and one I enlarged that will be 20 inches long.
here is a pic of where I am on the unlit 16 incher stargazer.
and a sheet from the big warbird.
yeah, two sheets wide on the Romulan
a lego Klingon that I think is cool.

I think that a white led, with one blue glass or plastic bead, and one green bead, heavily glued together might work well for this too. and a straight green cabin. however, for my other rombops and romd7's they will all be amber and green. green for modulated energy and amber for raw plasma energies. so that would be amber leds in the rombop nacelles with green portholes, or visaversa, and then on the romd7 amber wing grills, main engine grill , plasma charge torpedo, and green nacelles and torpedo cup and bridge area wings. with red eyes of course!!!

here is what I have come up with out of paper for light leak reduction. I kept getting seam leaks on the light boxes! I think this box and cap idea will work. I use a sharpened micro screw driver to poke out the windows with.

I think your solution to the bottom front radii surface is elegant.

If you can get a hand on an old fiber optic lamp, you could do wonders. On my 73 450Sl, One fiber optic wire around 1/8th of an inch in diameter lights up the whole dashboard!! The bulb is actually in the center counsel with a couple of other Fiber Optics going to other spots. The whole dashboard is lit with one bulb. The whole dashboard also goes black when that one bulb pops! ;)

actually the large size of the card stock made that entire area so flimsy that it bent and warbled. I had to fold those lines in just to stop the waving and warbling. then when I anchored the neck strut to the bottom it ruined the nice clean semi-oval line. sigh. im hoping that the smaller size or using foam board with the paper melted off in the hot shower will solve all that and I can go even bigger with it! but I can also pre-conceive that I will need a lot of primer and sanding if I do. thank you for the compliment on a hopeless problem that might be a permanent resolution.
