My Multi Million Dollar project is complete.
Months ago I started looking for a ATSF F7 AB set and the bids were out of site or I missed them or etc.etc.. I finally won a AB set,rd# 235, for $125.00 with the intention of only using the shells. I then won an F7A shell with rd# 272 for $45.00. I then bought, out of my own stock a BN F3 AB set, and proceeded to strip off the BN shells, put DN163KOB's on the frames, add Micro-Trains couplers, and install the ATSF AB shells on the new Chassis. I then took one of the old frames and gutted it, installed Micro-Trains coplers, and added the other ATSF A shell to it to make a dummy A.
Well , AT LAST , I have a Kato ABA set of DCC ATSF freight paint F7's.
The moral of this story is that Kato may do a set when the new ATSF Passengers come out in October , knowing my luck.
