Thanks for the links. They will be fun to build.

And from one new guy to another welcome to the forums. They have turned mild curiosity into a full-blown obsession for me.

I like the Arika Korp version of the Kubelwagen. It's more colourful than the European version. If I am not wrong, Kubelwagen means armoured car. Am I correct? I tried learning German at one time but said Aufwiedersehen (forgive me if I spelt it wrongly) to the language only after a few attempts. Anyway, welcome to the forum.

well, i asked around, and did some online translations, kubel doesn't really mean anything

i am thinking that kubel is similar to cobble, as in cobblestone, but i could be mistaken, also might have something to do with the bumpy ride.

    Hello,

at first thank´s for the welcome!!!!

The Word "Kübel" is a Problem for real!! It can mean container (from different sizes) for anything, or it can be a slang for "old car".

I don´t know who created Kübelwagen, in the Wehrmacht it was the equivalent to the US-Willy´s, but mostly not with 4 by 4 power, only powerd by 2 wheels.

For sure it wasn´t a armoured car, this would be called Panzerwagen or gepanzerter Wagen!!!

It was a VW-Beetle with an other body!!!
