Here I will post a gallery of recent projects completed. First I will begin with some simple aircraft models created by utilizing the simple FG patterns and then sprucing them up a bit with some added details.

Here we have a 1:33 scale Vought F4U-1A Corsair built out of Cherry Pepsi cans and spruced up a bit with a clear canopy, an insignia or two and of course some unit markings. This one was built with a modified FG pattern and made to resemble the Corsairs flown by VF-17 Skull & Crossbones.

Next, we have the modified FG P-40 built in all black and markings done up to resemble the aircraft flown by Captain Joe Sullivan in Sky Captain & the world of tomorrow. This model is in 1:32 scale:

Next we have the FG 1:36 scale Grumman Hellcat that was featured in the complete build tutorial here in this section. Again we have added an insignia or two, unit markings and a clear canopy to otherwise spruce up a very simple pattern.

The number one question I often get asked is, "do you drink ALL of the soda, beer and energy drinks you build with?"

The answer: If I get cans full of a product no matter what it might be (soda, beer, energy drink), generally it gets dumped in the woods out back of the workshop!

I actually don't drink much soda. I do drink Pepsi with Real Sugar as I cannot drink anything with Corn Syrup, and that stuff is in everything!!! For a while, the Pepsi had real "Cane Sugar", that was the stuff we grew up on. Now, all that artificial stuff, which does not have any less calories, iit gets you in a different way, and is just plain bad for you. Corn Syrup turns into Tryglicerides (fat) in your blood. Nice!! Corn Syrup is mean to power tractor trailer and other diesel vehicles. )

Me neither. But people ask or comment anyways and when I tell them it just gets dumped, their mouths just drop.

    "Even the beer?'

Yup even the beer. I'm sure the Manzanita tree out back has become an alcoholic by now thanks to me. ;)

Its okay really. The Manzanita tree got a break this week! ;)

I decided to build a modified FG P-47 without the usual bubble canopy out of Venom Energy Drink cans. This kit was was enlarged to 1:33 scale and came in at just over 13 inches long with a massive 15.5 inch wingspan. For this model I dumped the usual bubble canopy and instead custom built the cockpit seen in the photos. This custom clear canopy was constructed from 4 pieces and as usual the clear vinyl really adds to the project. The cans looked so stunning that I could not bring myself to add the usual insignia or two and unit designations. This is another example of how some minor modifications to a simple pattern can produce a very quality project. Wasn't sure of the cans to start, but it came together at the end:

WOW! Does the propeller rotate or did you perform some Photoshop magic?

You can post these picks and make your own Gallery as you have posted the build threads, the Gallery is open to you. I am also making this thread a "Sticky" (if I haven't already). :)

Oh okay, I wasn't even aware that there was the option to create a gallery. What does making the thread a sticky do, just so I know? :)

It keeps your thread at the top section of that category so it can be more easily found. Only around 10 threads are "Stuck", we're cleaning up some sections that have too many "Stickys" now. ;)
