I copy & paste signs found on ebay & other web sites into MS Publisher then resize for my scale (HO).
Also I look at the post cards on ebay for background buildings. Copy & paste into MS Publisher, then resize.
You then can print on cardstock, bright-white paper or photo paper for glossy metal signs.

Here are some you can copy & paste!

Thanks Tomcat for the signs. I do the same looking up vintage signs on ebay. I have never had the opportunity to see so many signs at one time. I really appreciate it & again Thanks!

Very Very cool.. Some great modeling ideas in there too.. Some of the restaurants/Gas Stations would make fine models. You could also if you have some graphics software (needed to print out anyway). Add the signage straight to a model wall especially the soda pop and sundries signage (eg Bread or Pencils) you would perhaps see that on wall of building. There was a time when to get business the "Company" would have such things painted for their dealers.

You could do a brick siding to the building your building add a bump map for the mortar then add a second layer and place the signage on that. Then fade as required. Newness of the signage (Freshly Painted or been in the sun for a while).

Some of your images need a bit of cleaning up but otherwise a great set of images. Should provide great stuff for some time to come.. I'm modeling that era so it's a great find for me I'm sure for many others as well..

    Thanks Much

EDIT: I whipped this up to show you what I mean.. It's a Blender render and not a photo of the printed page but you see what I mean by adding images on top of brick wall...

I was going for a bit of Night Scene ;). I have to say though that my creative juices are flowing really quite rapidly right now. I've been working on a design for my layout (in blender again of course). Might finish that up and post a few design pics. I'm really getting into it now more then ever. I don't know where my spark went but I'm sure glad it's back..

I do mine is Print Master. I came up with a scale and I use that as a template. But when I changed printers, the scale was off. So had to redo my scale. I just played with it until it came out to the right size. So I have numbers going down the left hand side and across the top. from 0 to 22. I do N-scale..... I also look for images on Google and the internet. I also print up interiors for buildings this way and put them inside so it looks like there is an interior to the building and not just empty...
