Today was suppose to be the big day. laying the first piece of track. I put a spike in the spikepunch and look for the first hole. No hole. No holes anywhere! Two boxes of flex track with no holes! The code 100 has holes! Should code 83 have holes? I've had this track more than a year. No taking it back.

    Where were you expecting holes?
I spike my flextrack between the ties. Then I can remove them when I get around to ballasting.

The Atlas code 83 track has spike holes, they just don't go all the way through the ties. If you flip the track over, you'll see them. I usually put a spike in a pair of pliers and punch the holes through, from the underside, on a few pieces at a time: there is only a very thin web of plastic at the top surface of these ties.
