Hi all,

I'm looking for papermodels of european barges, such as tankers or freighters, and passenger ships in about H0 scale, someting between 1:80 and 1:100, commercial or free. I need them for a river scene on my model railway.

Most of the plastic or resin kits are either way out of scale (mostly 1:160 or even smaller) or extremely expensive. :(

Thank you!

I stumbled on three in 1/100 scale (?) just a day or two ago--a flat-bottomed barge, a European style river barge and tug, all on the same site. Now I can't find them. ARRRGH!
But I know they're out there. I'll keep looking.

No worries,

I found them, sort of. Paper Shipwright (John Hathaway - www.papershipwright.co.uk) offers two kits, one kit for an open, flat barge and one kit for two Thames River tugs and two barges. They are in 1/200 scale but both are inexpensive and, knowing the quality of John's kits, they would fare well if you scanned them and blew them up to 1/87 scale.

On this side of the Big Pond (USA), you can order them from PMI.
