Hey anyone interested in an SD Rick Dias? From Zeta Gundam of course. I have the arms and back pack to clean up and color. The head has been unfolded in Pep, but I think I needs to enlarge it a bit. The dome eye is a bit small and fiddly. Other than that it's pretty straight forward.

An informal "poll" here, flaps or no flaps? Or a combination in between?

PS: I have quite a few other meshes in SD, some have been a real bear to clean up. So far the Dias has been pretty straight forward, in other words, easy to convert. I'll post a list of the meshes I have and take some input on what everyone would like to see next.

Here is a progress pic so far.

Hey Itla,

I say tabs and those who cut em off like I do can do that on their own.

Also you gonna do the Blue color one as well? ;)

Why yes I am. :thumb: That one will have to wait until I finish overall though. But it will be done!

PS-Getter, I haven't forgotten the Psyco Gundam, or the Hamma Hamma. I think the way I've worked on the Dias will help greatly on those two!:eek:ops:

Itla,

Nice job on the Rick Dias! Hope to see more soon  On a parallel vector, here is a link to Toyoppe's still unreleased SD Sturm Dias. No release date yet :nope:

57TM-Thanks for the kind words. I only wish I had the ability (and time) to learn how to design in CAD. That way I could say I did it from scratch!

Here's another screen shot, still working on the unfolding in Pep. Although I'm having trouble with the sholder armor for some reason. I'm still trying to gut the bugs worked out with that. A word to the wise, I have not designed any joints for this thing. It was originaly a game mesh and had no joints. Any advice in that direction from anyone?

Okay, the Dias is unfolded. Not perfect but close enough. I am going to add some graphics to it, what you would find on the Bandai Plastic Master Grade kit.

Would anyone out there like to do a test build? If you have the time, just PM your email and I'll send it your way. I could really use a little help on where to tweak this model. The 3d mesh wasn't suited to unfolding so it will probably have a few weak spots.

I will build it myself......sometime. I just have so many other 3D meshes I would like to turn into models right now.

Anyways, test build......anyone.....anyone.....?

OK I broke down and got up from massaging pixels. Grabbed a fresh Pepsi and printed, scored, cut and built this in just over an hour. That's from clicking print, to gluing the last piece. And yes, my workmanship reflects that speed. Just an alpha (beta?) build to see where some adjustments need to be made.

I'm still looking for another couple of people as "objective builders". I need the extra input.

Itla,

That's freaking awesome!!! I'm nearly done with what I have on the BIG Gunstar so I may be able to start this on the side ;)
