I'm working on the Walthers Cornerstone American Millwork building and I'm trying to figure out the roof color. It appears to be a sort of metal sheathing with un-even edges, either that or the un-even edges represent tarpaper laid out in a very large shingle pattern.
Anyway the roof is molded in a gray. do I keep the gray (painted) go with a black of go with a different color? I will be weathering it of course

Glen,

Can't seem to find a picture, but if it is the same roofing as the OL King Coal building, I think it is supposed to be a flat metal roofing that has ribs at each edge, but not in the middle.

The advantage of this assumption is it allows you to paint or rust it any colour you want and not worry about it. I would assume that a building like that would not have a tar-paper-only roof. Most likely candidates are metal or tar&gravel.
