Try this . . . .
That worked great. Dont have the time to sign up now, but got a question. If I sign up do I get mail from all the new replies or just the ones I'm posting on like The-Gauge? I dont want to end up with 40 or more E-mails a day like the last forum I was at.
You getting any bench work up yet?
here are some of the trees I made. I'm going put some more in there as I make them up.
Hey guyz buy anything on ebay recently??? I haven't, but I've been looking around. I saw a RI hopper in funky green the other day that I loved, but I missed the end o' the auction.
Saw a non-rock item that I loved too, a Virgin passenger set, but it was out of my price range for now.
I cut off the E-bay for a bit. Its too tempting to buy big items. I just got my last package friday (A Doctor Who video) from Canada even. Might try to get a few more.
I was going gun-ho on the lay-out but we had a heat wave last week so I worked out side and did some fishing. Now I've got the wood stove going. Been doing some work in the shop also.
Those Quad drivers are nice I got one or two in each size, I'm always using them,Their also great for cabinets.
Went on e-bay last night and bought some RI pillow cases a RI casino chip and something else I forgot. My memory is gone.
Oh it was a game for the computer.
I HAD TO JUMP ON THIS ONE. I HAVE BEEN IN THE CONV. STORES FOR THE LAST 22 YEARS, JUST RETIRED FROM IT, I STILL WORK 3 NIGHTS A WEEK FOR MY RR MONEY. WHEN I LIVED IN TUCSON, 10 YEARS, I WORKED FOR C-K. WE SOLD FORSTERS AT THE STORE, WE GOT 3.29 PER CAN, BECAUSE IT WAS FROM DOWN UNDER. IT WENT OVER BIG, WHEN A ADV. CAME OUT ABOUT IT BEING MADE IN CANADA WHICH IT WAS, WE HAD TO GO DOWN TO 1.99 A CAN.
WELL THIS IS MY 2 CENTS WORTH, SEE YA-AL LATTER, ROBERT
Greetings, gents. I just got meself an undecorated rotary snowplow, and was wondering if either of you knew if ROCK had any snowplows, and if so if there were any pics you had, or knew of.
If not, I'll just paint it for my local switching yard / helper service railroad.
I dont know if this will be big enough so i'll also email you the page
WOW PERFECT . . . thank you very very very much.....I await the email with baited (??) breath.
Got the email . . . THANKS AGAIN Shane!!!!
Hey guys, just wondering if you've come across a font that's a good resemblance of THE ROCK font. I've got it down to three which are kinda close for most letters and numbers, but not all of 'em.
I just barly learned how to turn this thing on
Whats ya modlin? Might be easier to get some Micro Scale decals they have quite the selection for the RI.
Might be a good idea, certainly would look much more like the real thing wouldn't it.
How many cars does each sheet from Microscale do??? I'm working on a stockcar and two tank cars right now. Then there's the snowplow - I have NO idea how I'm going to get the word ROTARY on the side of that puppy in white.
A sheet will somtimes do two or more some times not. I end up mixing and matching on cars that they dont have a sheet for. I'll scan you a pic of HO 87-18 RI diesels. This sheet covers alot engines and differant fonts.
AS for your rotary plow I would suggest using HO 87-69-1 Roman Railroad letters and numbers in white. this way you will have the correct style of letter and numbers. One sheet should do it but I would pick up two since the numer of " R " s is right on the money so you won't have room for a boo boo with just one sheet.
I have been posting pictures of my lay-out in the N/Z scale section under "my new old lay-out"
So stop by and check it out.
RI Billboard by Athearn
Did you see the new billboard by Athearn? It's very nice. I got mine Saturday. I specail ordered it from my local hobby dealer.
Yes I saw the billboards but the only problem is that they are a 1/2 size to big.
Did you get my e-mail ok?
RI poll and new RDC
A reminder that I have put the poll for the "Best RI Color Scheme" on The Gauge under "The Real Thing: USA" for those who care to vote.
The management of the regional Rock Island Lines is pleased to announce the purchase of a new Rail Diesel Car for the RI fleet. This car, built by P1K, will provide improved passenger and mail service from the Quad Cities Area to Chicago, including the airport. The purchase of this car was facilitated by e-Bay, Inc. from the previous owner, M. B. Kline.
