Riv. Y6b DCC install

Hello all,
My friend has an older Rivarossi Y6b N&W Mallet.
It has the motor in the middle w/a brass flywheel on one end and has driveshafts to both wheel sets.
I asked if the motor was isolated before he started to wire it for DCC using a decoder and he did not know, so he is waiting to find out if anyone on THE GAUGE knows if the motor is isolated before he wires the decoder.
So does anyone know if the motor is isolated on this particular loco or not? Or where can I go to find out for sure before he wires the DCC decoder?
Any help is appreciated and thank you all.
Jai

Usually if there are 2 wires going to the motor, there is a good chance it is insulated. Only 1 wire means it is definitely grounded to the chassis. Best bet in the 2 wire case is to measure resistance from where each wire connects to the motor and the locomotive frame. Should measure infinite resistance (no continuity) on either wire.
