weathering tends to run vertical from top to bottom also you would see some rust stains from the bracing and the lettering would tend to be fade.:)

    Dave,

Are you brushing or using an airbrush?

IMO it doesent look like a bad start if you are trying to show exposed wood under the paint. I would definately fade the Lettering and use a small metal bristle brush to burnish the wood (brown paint) to give it more of a peeling paint look. You would want to go horizontal with the burnishing and vertical with the weathering. Then again I have yet to weather any wood boxcars but that is the method I use on my structures and it works decent. Just a suggestion. Good luck. :thumb:

ak-milw - I'm using a brush, Conrail thanks for the metal bristle tip.

I'm trying to get the wood fading done first then the then some texture
My thoughts on fading the lettering was going to be last because I want to
use black and did'nt want any on the car just yet.
    Thanks guys
