Raising Athearn's prices

I have some sad news. I get Athearns email news. As of the 1st of July, the prices of their parts is going up.

They claim it's the inflatation and the high cost of living in California. They reconmend to the customer, BUY NOW!!!! To get more info, go to www.athearn.com.

If they were smart, they would move the plant out of California and back to the United States!

With all the granola brains out there voting against construction of any form of power generating station for 25 years, what do you expect? Manufacturing is getting killed. You're going to see a lot of this in the coming months. Don't be surprised if Athearn is forced to move their operation to nearby MEXICO in the next few years where energy will be cheap and abundant by comparison. The downturn alone in the economy may force the family to do that just to survive.

Can't you guys see the magazine ads? "ATHEARN- Hecho en Mexico!" or how about "ATHEARN- El Grande Picano Ferrocarrille de Mexico."
