Rail in the Peace River area

This is a post from another forum off of Yahoo, in which this chap never received a reply. Does anyone know the answer to his post? And I quote him now:

Dear hobbyfriends,

as I'm interested in the history of western Canadian lines, I have
learned on my visit in 2000, that the tracks north from the Peace
River era to Hay River / Great Slave Lake were build in the sixties.
Is there any book or other information available about this line?
