R2-D2 Paper-Replika

My next model will be made in the spare time of the Akitsushima.
The model seems relatively easy to build with just 52 pieces.
Even being a basic model I think that It can end up a nice model

I started the model by the head.

It looks like you are off to a great start!
I built this model for a friend years ago (as a gift). It does lend itself quite a bit of greebling potential.
I am looking forward to seeing how your build turns out.

After the head continue with the body. I used some card to reinforce the body.

Next the construction of the legs.
The legs are built by doing several boxes with different shapes that are glued together.

Finally its done!
I am very happy with the final result. I think that in the future I will make more models from paper Replika!.

Paper-Replika literally has a lifetimes worth of models. I have never seen a "bad' model from there. Grab'em when you see them though, because sometimes, they disappear!

Sometimes the site goes off-line for maintenance. In this case don't panic (like me ) just check in later.

Cool ...I just watched R2D2 in Star Wars last night and you have done a great job! I saw the original while home on leave way back when..loved it then as now...so next question that comes to mind...when are going to start C3PO ??

I Agree! Each one has tons of room for greeble!!
First thing I ran into long while back was this tutorial from PR on 3d Modeling for paper, though it deals with GMax ( still available) you could still use lots of other free programs along with the tutorial!
