hello guys, im in the middle of laying out my yard on my layout. i am running a partial double main line through my yard. i have cross overs at each end and im adding a A/D track...maybe! what is a good length to have on one of these tracks? is there a minimum length at which it would not be benefiscial? right now, i have 29" of length. im running a short line railroad, so i wont be pulling lengthy trains. the yard im modeling is at this address. its the one at the bottom of the page...http://www.housatonicrr.com/yard_des.html if anyone has any input, please feel free. thanks!

Your arrival/departure tracks should be able to accomodate the longest trains you wish to run (or maybe 95% of them). After all, the completed train will be arriving/departing from this track...
