    I originally posted this under "The Real Thing USA", but think "Plans & Blueprints" is a better place for this resource:

    UP's specs and plans for everything from turnouts and switch stand placement to track spacing and ... pretty much everything track related. Very useful.

    I have a Maintenance of Way handbook from circa 1930 that has similar diagrams for Canadian National Railways. Includes everything from turnouts up to #20, grading for ballast, and how to stack spare ties along the right of way...
