    does anyone know a free image program that works with win 8 ?

    I don't know if it'll work, but it's no secret that I love free software... Have you tried Inkscape? GIMP?

    I am just looking for a basic image editor, like Photoshop,only freeware, and I need it to work on Windows 8

    Don't get me wrong. I like GIMP, its textures are GREAT! I'm just more comfortable to work with Inkscape, and there's a version of it for windows 8, if you want.

    I would take these guys advice. Don't forget the old ruler, compass, and some French curves! :)
