Problem with 3DS Max textures in Pepakura.

    Have problems with Pepakura and textures with the files I export from Max as 3DS files.

    Pepakura seems to have a problem with JPEGs (they all show as black), and I think that Max is converting the textures I use/arrange/rotate in max as JPEGs as well.

    Anyone know how to export a Max file as a 3DS but with bitmaps instead of JPEGs?

    Try this:

    Using an image editor/converter such as Photoshop, AC/CD, etc to save your .jpg maps as .bmp maps. Make sure you rename them with short names as .3ds files will truncate them if they are too long(stay less than 8 characters).
    Then in the Max material editor open the model's material(s) and repalce ('reload') the diffuse/and or specular .jpg maps -whichever light mode you assigned textures to- with the new .bmp maps, and export the model as a 3ds file.
