I've pretty much finished the recolouring at least of parts that won't be redone. Now, I'm pretty much waiting for an opportunity to print the model (which is tentative in lieu of an oddball school schedule for my kids, that I might have to sacrifice my job for).

I opted for the color scheme of the current replica Ting Yuen, most historical photos are b/w and of poor quality that I can't discern some coloring (which seems to change with every picture) in them.

Thus, this is the recolor scheme:

The profile isn't mine, it comes from the Chinese Maritime Museum at http://www.beiyang.org/bybq/zheny.htm. Apparently they built a replica of the Ting Yuen, but pictures of it are hard to come by, on top of trying to navigate through Chinese characters. I pretty much clicked every apparent link to find what I managed.
