I answered a post somewhere on the Gauge where a member was looking for inexpensive backdrops for his model railroad. My son-in-law sent us some pictures of our new grandson via a link to his Yahoo pictures page. There was a link from Yahoo to have prints made by our local Target store. I noticed that Target offered to make a poster of any of the pictures for either $4.99 or $5.99 U.S. If you can make a photo that would be a good backdrop, I think that may be an inexpensive alternative to more pricey commercial backdrops. I think you could order the posters with a mat finish, but if not, a little dull coat or mat medium sprayed over the poster would certainly dull it down for use as a backdrop.

Depending on the hieght that you want for your backdrop, you might be able to fit two or three strips within the boundaries of the poster too...
