Wow! Really looking great, Phil!
Over the top, baby! Over the top!
You guys are too kind...too kind indeed!!
I finished the rear bumper and hitch.
The hitch was very difficult. First, the bumper has an insert for the hitch. But the really hard part was the hitch itself. I made holes for the hitch pin all the way through, but the glue closed the holes, and as I tried to unblock the holes, the part wanted to collapse. I decided a good looking part was better than forcing the pin.
The hitch turned out OK, but I'm not happy with my build of it...fortunately, this is my prototype...AND I must mention...all parts so far fit like a dream, I did a really good job! (IGNORE my boo-boos).
Marvelous...simply marvelous, Phil....she's a nice looking little "puffer"!!!.........
rated 3 smiling rolling happy faces!!!   Exellante!!! Sir Phil!!.......Bob out....
3 smileys? YAY!!! Thanx Bob!
Yepper, she's plugging along...
I added a link to my signature if you want to see all the pics I took so far...
or you could click here
One of the reasons I make military models Boo-Boos = bullet holes.
I suppose bullet holes on a Porter would not be out of order! lol
I am redesigning the hitch assemblies (front and rear). This one is too fat and too complicated (I had great difficulty). Going to use laminates rather than tiny boxes. Might even be easier to line up the hitch-pin holes.
At this pace...finished by Christmas...(GASP-SHREIK-MOAN-HOWL)...lol
JUST KIDDING!!! I will TRY to finish this week...(tell Murphy to stay away!).
as long as the holes aren't in the boiler
Hum deedle deedle deedle dum deedle die...
Well, Murphy did not stay away...didn't get a darn thing done on this model.
Gonna stop talking about it.
When she is done, she will be on my website.
Won't even speculate when that will be.:???:
And, you will have to find it.
Might even take a LOOOOOOONG break and make some toys.
Or nothing at all.
Well...I will at least, tickle my Wife!
May just go off the deep end. :-o
And walk my own plank.
....sometimes it's just good to take a break.....and do something else...that "tickles your fancy" .....You've really done a great job, so far....
Yep, I had a good break...tickled my Wife and such!!!
Thought about Bacardi 151...drank Pepsi instead!...to continue living sounded more fun! lol (I'm not knocking it...I just can't do it!).
Going to try getting back to this little beauty..or ANYTHING card modeling...
Gonna try to read all posts as friendly and quit getting so durn emotional!!! lol
No website right now, but HEY!...I got YOU!!!
LETS HAVE SOME MORE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I pulled the prototype down from its dusty shelf...blew her off...and I re-begin.
I am going to finish everything except my trouble spots, then I will tackle them. Thanks to Rick Thomson, Paperbeam and Shoki2000, I will be able to fix the problems I was having with the domes and smokestack. Later...however...
Next part: front bumper assembly...wish me luck! lol
