Polikarpow I-16 from Halinski bulid.

  1. My god, this is some of the best work I have ever seen on aircraft. I agree with the others about covering up that engine. Can't you do a cut away so that all that work shows?

what happened to this incredible build we are waiting in suspense :D

i`m intruiged by your detail and your building skills.. i`m doing "scale" flying models at that size but what i consider scale can`t even reach high enough to see onto your building table !

All that wonderful detail work that no one will see. I don't think I'd have the heart to cover it up. I'd put the engine on a stand next to the plane--or open the cowling, or something!

    Excellent work!

  6. I'm sorry, I have to understand something. Why would you go to all the trouble and time to do detailing that is not going to show in the final model? I have built models following the directions only to cover up all my hard work unintentionally. Now I anticipate if it is going to show or not. If not, I do a simplified version. This engine is a work of art. to cover it up is a crime. I would have done a cutaway on one engine so it could be seen. Same true with the cockpit. When done you will hardly be able to see all the hard work on the pedals etc. I see detail on the formers too that won't ever show. This is a work of art, "let it show let it show let it show".

I agree with the comments about covering up engines after all the beautiful work.

My solution would be to scan the engine parts, and build the scanned engine and install it in the aircraft.

THEN, I would build another engine from the original parts and display it next to the aircraft.

This particular build is one of the best I have seen. But the engine is a jewel to be marveled.

Even though I have gone through this entire thread and have seen every photo showing how you made it. The final product does not look like it was made from paper.
