Here are some pictures of my 3 X 6' layout. The benchwork is made of 1X4's framed as bed slats and covered with layers of 3/4" foam insulation. The track is Kato Unitrack.:D

Welcome aboard! Looks like you have a lot going on in 3X6 with a lot of progress made! Keep us up to date on future developments such at that grain elevator scene. :thumb:

Thanks for the encouraging words! :D The layout is a simple oval. There will be a runaround track and a small yard at the grain elevator. There is room for another industry (which I haven't decided upon). I don't have a final track plan yet, but I will post a picture showing the entire layout so you'll get a better idea of how things are set up.

The Undeveloped Corner

I left room at this corner for another industry. The S-curve is the same radius as the Kato #6 turnout, so it will be easy to add a switch here.

The whole layout

I stepped back and took a picture of the whole layout. My idea was to have the "scenic" part on the left, a small town in the center (with the grain elevator at the rear), the highway along the front, and another industry on the right.

Lakeside

Hemi, here's the "deuce" again leading a short freight past the lake. This is the same location as one of my previous photos. I recently painted the lake bottom with acrylics and applied a gloss coat over it. It makes a BIG difference.
