Wayne...That's a B'mann SY. A beauty of an engine..but a little on the light side. It could use some weight to make it a better puller...Any ideas..??
GN...That's an awesome engine..!! What is it..??

Great pictures everyone...Keep 'em coming..!! :thumb: :thumb:

    Thats a 1960'sAkane brass model of a DM&IR class M4 2-8-8-4 yellowstone.
Believe it or not it was more powerful than the fabled UP. Bigboy.
There are still 3 of them on display up on the iron range in northern Minnesota.

SY? Is that the 2-8-2 Chinese prototype, a couple of which made it to the States?

Yeah, a couple, but nuthin' too simple....;-)

My guess would be a Yellowstone, although I wasn't aware of one in HO, other than brass. There is a very nice one in N scale though, from Benchmark Models.

My o my thats one FINE little (big) lady there! I love it. I really need to stop with the talk and get myself one. But instead I go and ask about pre-ordering a Tower 55 SD70ACe (should have my Union Pacific yellow sill in January 2008!).

Yes, the SY is Chinese. One of them was brought over in 1989. The engines that arrived recently were two QJ 2-10-2s.

I didn't recognize the SY out of context. I guess that shows just how American in design Chinese steam is. Or did you modify it to look more American?

I'm putting in the pre-order for the yellow, and I'll get myself a red sill later. I still haven't bought an AC6000CW, or either of the ES44AC's. I guess I'm just slow.

The spot of blue paint is where a water feature will go.Doesn't look much like water right now but the alteranative was pink foam.

The last three pics are of the other sides of the module that was origonally built back in 1994 as a 4' NTRAK corner.

Triplex, the SY is as it came right out of the box (with the exception of a decoder). It is a little "daintier" than it's US counterparts, but fits right in with its American cousins.
