Now that is a place I haven't heard of in a very long time! We used to go there every summer when I was a kid. Swimming pig show, good food, but the mermaids were always my favorite!

    Aquarena Springs

The university (now Texas State University, San Marcos) bought it several years ago. It's now mostly a research center. You can still get a glass bottomed boat tour of the lake and there's a wetlands nature walk. Ralph the swimming pig swims no more and the only mermaids in town sun themselves on Bikini Hill over in Sewell Park.

    Aquarena Springs

Aquarena Springs is still there, but owned by Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University). No more swimming pigs or mermaids, but there are still glass bottomed boats.
