Painting P2K bodyshells....

Hi All

I recently bought a P2K GP-7 (HO) and because it was on sale, I could not get the road I wanted. The loco is in PRR colors and I want to paint it in early L&N colors (the black scheme).

Firstly, can anyone suggest how to get the details off safely (like handrails etc) before painting.

Secondly, can anyone point me to somewhere on the web that I could see the actual early black paint scheme for the L&N - the one used during the late 40's, early 50's.

Rails might snap off, they do on the S1. They sure are delicate!

The handrails do snap off. They are flexible delrin so they resist any glue. I think I will replace mine with brass stanchions and hand bent wire railings on my S.F. "zebra stripe."
