    Hello everyone,
I'm glad to present here our beautiful and unique temple: Lien Hoa Dai (in Hanoi, Vietnam).
It's unique because there is only one pillar, as you can see in the pix:

The temple was built first in 1049 by the king Ly Thai Tong after his dream of a Buddha that giving him a baby. After awhile the queen has born a child. Then with the help of a bonze named Thien Tue, he built the temple as he seen it in the dream to thank the Buddha.
This temple is not only a beautiful architecture but also contains the knowledge about ying-yang, geomancy (dunno if i translate the good word) and so...

and, I gonna make its model kit. I dunno when I finish it but I try to make it as much realistic as possible.

I'm glad if you guys like it.

    Regards,
    Kezn.

That's beautiful. I'm not a fan of architecture models but I would build that and happily display it.

I like the unusual-ness of it but then I've always admired eastern(is that the right term?) design.

From what I've seen of you work, I'm sure it will be a stunner.

    Hello guys,
This week-end when I'm less like an undead (so tired of work ^^!) I will go there, check it up and take some pix. Then I will start modelling.
I'm thinking of how to make the water look realistic. perharp using 2 layers, and the top-one has some transparency will do the work.

And a little details about the temple:
There are two dragons at the top of the temple. This position is called "two dragon look at the moon", significant the peace, happiness. Its the opposite of another pose named "two dragon fight to take the pearl", significant the power, spirit of man. So the decor's position will show up the character of the man who built it. It means too, the king that built the temple is a peaceful man.

    Hope you like it.

    Regards,
    Kezn.

    PS:
@ skupil: eastern may show the people on the east but also the one that have religion. I think so :D

I think it's great, I'm also interested in the history you're sharing. I can't explain why as I'm really not interested in architecture normally. Very strange????

I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.

may that cause you are interested in asiatique culture more than in architecture, so that's why :D .

Tomorrow afternoon we go to the pagoda and take some reference pix, and for texturing too. I thinks it will be hard to be realistic by painting all that stuff. This time I prefered the pre-textured one :D (but maybe some moss-liked paint)

At tomorrow, in the early evening you will find my pix posted here.

thank Tunny for your compliment. I'll try my best.

    Hello guys,
I'm back from the pagoda. Sadly like you know, the temple was distroyed, without any reason, when the French withdrew from Vietnam in 1954 (many thanks, f*ckers). So for now a part of this pagoda was re-built in concrete (structure on top is still made of wood ) So, I think I will model the wooden one, the ancient one. It may take a long time for me to find all the stuff, image...

    now its time to model.

@ a little note: the Buddha I mentioned in the first pose of this thread named: Goddess of Mercy, Avalokistevara. She is very popular in Vietnam.

    hi there,

I've started to model this pagoda. I just model it. For the scale, proportions and makablity cardmodel, I will adjuste them when the modelling process is done.

    Here is some pix:

I finished making kit of Voltron's right leg. Took already 6-7 pages. Seems the whole model will take around 50.. lolz..

Here is my update for this pagoda: i'm making the roof
other parts are also refined to fit more on scale.

To answer why it make me too longtime to make this pagoda, it's the intern structure. Small but complex, and all the joint need to fit together.. Tomorrow I 'll go back there, by chance I can talk to the maitre bonze and have some more information..
    Hope you like it,
    Kezn.
