...we will have a lot of fun !

Just to let you know: On kartonbau.de we will have our 4th card modelling Marathon. From 02/17 07:30am (GMT) till 02/18 07:30am (GMT), a group of modellers will try to work 24h on their projects. This time a lot of interesting projects for aeroplane lovers.

So If you have some time or you can´t sleep, have a look around and help to prevent us from falling asleep:-D

    Here is the link: http://www.kartonbau.de/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=10920

    See you around on Saturday/Sunday,

    Hi Russell,

sure ! I will build the SAAB J 37 VIGGEN from WHV in 1:50. Should be the right project for 24h.

And everyone is invited to join the "nuts company" - just log in and join the team. The hardest thing may be the very early morning for you:twisted:

    cheers,

    Korvette

Ah-ha, you don't know me too well, korvette!
I am an insomniac. I some times go for days without sleeping and when I do get to sleep, it is only for a few hours and I will be up for a couple more days.
I will be sure to try and get a nap before the start though, so I can be sure to watch the whole event unfold.
This sounds like an exciting twist to a modeling contest and I can't wait to see a whole bunch of build threads all going at the same time!
I don't know if I will enter or not as I might be too busy watching to get any building done myself!

    Hi Russell,

Oh-ho, than have a try.8) Here you find the other Marathons so far...http://www.kartonbau.de/wbb2/board.php?boardid=177

The building reports are in their specific forums but always with the prefix X.KMB (Kartonbaumarathon).

Would be nice to see you around...

    cheers,

That's impressive, if somewhat insane! :) I don't think I could ever do such a thing (maybe once, in younger days...)

I'm curious - do most of the modellers try to pick a new project for this, one that they hope they can do in 24 hours? Or do they just do whatever they are currently working on?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

    Hi Rick,

some will start a new project (like me), trying to finish it in the given time, others will continue on their current projects.

But it´s still not a speed contest, just fun (especially between 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning:grin: ).

In these black hours, we will have a lot of talking and discussions via our Teamspeakserver - this helps a lot (motivation !).

    cheers,

    Jörg

    Hi yaniv,

no, the posts will be in german language, but if you have any question, you are free to post in english and you will get an english answer.

It´s not a contest. Just fun in trying to work on a project for 24h. If anyone fails, doesn´t matter:)

    cheers,

    Korvette

Just run the page through Google translate:

The translations are sometimes bizzare and funny, but you get the gist of what's said.
