So gentlemen please keep in mind this is my first try at this. This setup is a festive setup and I just had fun with it with my Son. I have seen many pics of your trains on this site and mine do not compare in any way to some of the fantastic setups other members have here. Please enjoy the pics. :thumb:

Sure enough...I'll bet more than a few here have their earliest memories of trains as a Christmas tree "round and round" setup. I know I do, and your pics bring back a lot of memories. Thanks a lot.

Wow

You Gentlemen are all so very generous! Thank you for all your compliments. This project was alot of fun and I was glad to bring back some memories for you all.

Even when I was a kid I used to go to my Uncles house for Christmas and he had a village, a OLD TIME Lionel, and the whole works. Man I loved that setup. Unfortunatley my Father never was interested in those sort of things. But I am not making that mistake for my Son.

So its great to hear that many people now are gonna put a train around there tree. All I ask is that you put up pics so I can get ideas for next year. Maybe even have a contest.

Thank you all again!

Happy Holidays.

Great pics! :thumb: Great setup!:thumb:

A-h-h, memories. I remember years ago my brother and I got a train set for Christmas. Our great aunt and great uncle were there and we had a lot of fun. My great-uncle worked for CN as a baggage handler and this was right up his alley!

I was going to set up our train around the tree this year but we just rescued a dog so that will be put off until next year when her re-training is complete. I don't want to take any chances with the train or the dog! Gives me an opportunity to build some better structures for the layout and try out some other ideas that are brewing in the brain pan though!:D

Looking forward to next year.
