tuesday march 12 1958, a derailment on the third street crossing no one was injured, damage costs in total $250 press dispatched proptly.

Hope those are empties for your insurance premiums sake.

Oddly enough, that looks JUST LIKE a derailment I had when I worked for a local shortline. I was in the rear step well of one of our switchers and right in my ear, I hear all hell break loose. I turn, look back, and see this exact sight dragging along the ballast. I walked into the cab and told the engineer, who was concentrating on teh crossing coming up "Uh...Rich? That'll do!". The look on his face when he turned around was priceless.

Got an early quit though, on a Friday afternoon no less!
