Bellefontaine was a hell of a place fifty years ago! I know BS tower still stands at the other end of the yard, but I'm not sure the fate of BN. It's amazing how much different the city looks with CSX GEs rolling through instead of Central steamers.

Where'd you find the shot, or are you older than I'm giving you credit for?

The I&O runs through Bellefontaine as well.

I recall my Dad and I spending a day at Bellefontaine railfanning..It was a busy place back in 55.I was 7 years old when we made that trip but, remember that day well.

That was part of the Big 4 route.

If you're driving through on US-33, you can see where the NYC yard used to exist. I used to love the track layout of the Big Four in Sidney...back when the used the old mainline into the downtown as the interchange with the B&O. And of course the big concrete viaduct on the Big Four's double track raceway.

Next time I get down to Emporia to see Larry I'll have to give you a shout out and finally put a face to the name!

Hey, come on down now and see the train exhibit at the Madison County (Anderson Indiana) Historical Society. It runs though the end of the month.
