Getting closer with the head. I finished the mouth and the back end, so next will be the vents on the sides of his eyes, after which will be the hydraulic cylinders and neck.

I decided to do the cylinders and neck first:

I think I'll start texturing this, and then release it as a bust model. Then I can continue with the rest of the body. Hows that sound?

    Lol, enemas. :)

^ One of my favorite lines, Thunderchild! sign1

I'm upping the size from 12 inches to about 28 inches tall. It's simply too detailed to make it any smaller than that. This will be a great subject to print on silver cardstock.

Okay, I think the head is finished. I don't want to do all the wires and stuff that connect the head to the body; those would be better represented by real wire and ribbed tube.

I made the vents on the sides of his head and the connections for the hydraulic actuators:

Okay, time for an update. I made the little antenna on the right side of Johnny's head and built the neck extender:

I'll be making the rest of the antennas on his head later, like the little circular RC pop-up and the little tube-shaped microphone. In fact, a lot of the things on his head will be 3D detail, since it'll most likely be up-sized by some of you in Pepakura Designer, but the surface will bear the same texture, so you can choose what details to add. :)

I started work on the shoulders:

There are two assemblies inside the shoulders which swivel them back and forth, but I'm having a hard time visualizing how they work.

Hi Millennium... my name is Ken Palkow and I'm one of the Input-Inc members. I love what you're doing with your model... very nice. If you need anything as far as J5 is concerned, let me know. If I could hook you up with detail photos and dimensions, ask away. I told the guys about your work and they love it.

    My Johnny Robot

Here is what I was able to come up with for my final robots project this term. I just submitted the report today.

He was a lot of fun to create, I just wish I had the time to put in more detail. He is controlled by a Micro controller and can follow a black path and find his way out of a simple maze. His eyes go green or red depending on what he is seeing with is range sensors.

    Nice robot, Music Man!

Absolutely, that'd be great! Incidently, how am I doing? :)

In case you guys are wondering, I'm back into my plastic-modeling phase. Right now I've got some major projects and I'll return to my CG ones later.
