Hi David, Nov 19th, 07.
Monday 18:20 Hrs. M.S.T.

Thanks for Note on Bedell Tower. I Used to Live in the
Montreal Region Years Back, So Yes I Remember the Way Freights
that Came Down from Ottawa/SWmith Falls etc.
I still Have all the Train Orders, in My C.P. Files from
Places Like Smith Falls, Carelton Place, Ottawa West, Walkley Yard,
Bedell, Vaudreuil, You Name It, etc.
Great Times as I Saw It. Will Be Taking a Close Look
At the Drawings of the Track Plan at Bedell. Yes It Can B Built
in N SCALE for Sure.
Also Note. If Your from Perth, Ontario, My Fathers Side
of the Family Settled the Town of Perth Years Ago So I Know the
Region Quiet Well.

Take Care,

Andrew: We moved out of Perth when I was 12. At that time, the concept that people might destroy railway stuff was quite alien to my thoughts, so I missed taking pictures of all the interesting things.
We always took the train when I was young, until dad bought a car. I never knew how we would go to Ottawa -- sometimes we changed at Bedell, sometimes at Smiths Falls. I think there may have been a trip or two that went direct.
We also went to Toronto a lot. At that time we had two routes - one followed Hwy 7 through Havelock and Peterborough; the other went down toward Kingston and the lake shore: that's the line that still exists. One time we came home on what I was told was a Kingston - Perth train. This had a small steamer, a coach and a caboose. I was too shy to accept when they invited me into the caboose.
I haven't been back to Bedell since we left; I don't even know how to find it without a train. The line has been reduced to 2 sidings and no crossings.
