Wow, John! This is a great thread and a great build! I can't believe that you have built more in the past 24 hours than I have in the past 24 days!! Great job! Thanks for the great idea for this thread, too!

Yes, that's really quick. Some days I spend the whole day working and get very little done. I'm too meticulous, I think. I also toss a bunch in the can if I don't get it the way I want it. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more of your build threads with "the special". :)

The web cam is great but i noticed you rolling parts using a metal rod,A long time ago I suggested a better thing to use but got no feedback .Try using an electric curling iron for round parts and you can get several sizes from the Sally Ann if your wife doesn't have one.At least try it.If it works well tell everyone and if not forget it.

    Thanks again guys............

rons dad............ I must have missed that one..........folks that know me, know I'm like Mikie............ "I'll try anything!" But you are going to have to give me a little more info................curling iron!!?? That do-dad that my wife and daughter use to torture they hair into shapes they demand? I don't think I would have come up with that on my own.

Do you turn it on, and use it HOT?
How small does it curl a piece?
How tight a curl can you achieve?

My little steel rod and my foam mouse pad can curl a very tight cylinder and I don't burn my fingers:grin: BUT in the pursuit of the perfect model...........anything goes!

OK here's a little more.............. props on the hub. Nothing special Nobi has make two sided props, just cut glue and edge color. He leaves a little red tab on the bototm that you can glue to the marked locations on the hub. But again at this scale and big hands (notice pictures) I perfer to butt glue a flat surface to the hub.

OK........ I also glue down the wing fillets..............

TIP At least on this model, I found that gluing the back of the fillet down to the trailing edge of the wing. I was able to get this piece down easier and I think much neater..........

    Here is a top view.................

All that's left to do is the canopy............and this is where I usually mess things up.

So we'll just have to see what happens....................

Heck John just vacuform one and scratch build the cockpit while you're at it! You're already 1 week ahead of a normal speed build.

Actually John, thanks for the link. Inside the link is a link for plastic sources and they have the pvc sheets in the thickness we need for a bit less than the hobby shops, usplastics.com
