New Kato SD70Mac and MT couplers

I just received my 2 Kato CSX SD70MACs and had a lot of trouble fitting the MT1015 couplers as recommended by MT. It was impossible to fit the MTs without trimming the openings on the body with an Xacto. Seems the opening is not exactly a rectangle. There are tiny little tabs in the corners that prevent the rectangular MT from fitting through the hole until you trim them out. Anyone else encounter this? I never had to trim to install MTs before.

All SD80/90MAC's, 40's, 40-2's, C44-9W's and others take (2001's for tighter curves) 2004's. Geep 20's, SW1200's, Geep 40's , SD60's? and others take 1015's.
In short, most Katos take 2004's or 2001's. a GENERAL rule. Not always applies.
Most Atlas' take 1015's, but that is also a general rule.

...that's wrong the message on Scott's nscalesupply page, I have checked it on the engine for you right now - the right MT couplers for the SD70MAC are the same as for the SD40-2, SD80/90MAC, C44-9W - the MT#2004

I received my first Kato SD70 Mac BNSF HII a few days ago and so far I have not had a problem with the stock coupler and any of the MT's on my rolling stock. What is the main reason to change the coupler to a MT ?, should I expect a problem with the stock coupler ?
