A friend pointed out some real neat parts for making steam donkeys. You all know those disposable lighters, take one apart, yo! - after the gas is gone of course, and check out them neat little parts. The tiny "O" rings make great tires also. :p :p

Hey Bill I think that tip is just great, since my wife smokes I'll finally get something out of all that money she pays for them.Do you know if anyone ever put down on paper a sketch of how to assemble a donkey engine? I got the long rifle 22 cartridge for the boiler and I figure I'll sand down a piece of dowel to cap it off but from there all the pictures I've seen are so small I can't get a good handle on the rest of it.

belg, there are several pictures that I found on the internet. Don't know if it is a picture of a kit for sale, but the picture is clear and gives you some idea of how it should be modeled. http://www.1-87vehicles.org/photo94/steam_donkey.php and the other is http://courses.washington.edu/fe450/projects/00_solduc/quarter_pics/quarter_pics.htm about the eighth picture down, there is a fairly clear shot of the mechanism. Check around on the internet, use the "google" search enging and just type in steam donkey
