Seems like many N-scale manufacturers are releasing locomotives with their own coupler choices. Is this an issue? Are they all compatible with Micro-Trains? Are they easily converted to Micro-Trains?

I get the idea that accumates will work with Micro-Trains, but how about Kato?

They all sort of work more-or-less-reliably with MT couplers, except for the Kato 'imitation couplers' sometimes found on the front end of steam locos, for example. On the other hand, I've eventually worked out that you shouldn't worry about the couplers at all, as every single one will need removing and replacing with an MT if you want the coupling and uncoupling to work well. Even the MT ones, as they're normally truck-mounted not body-mounted. So don't even think about it, just keep a bag of MT couplers on hand...
