    Hi all

    Yet another

Thought I would hit this next while waitng for parts on the Ki-61 to dry.

This has nine pages of parts and formers, also siix pages of diagrams.
For one of Nobi's models this is a big bird :D
There is no point in going in to design ect as we all know Nobi's stuff by now!!

    Here we go.
I started with the main tank it carries, not much done tonight so just the one photo

    More tomorrow

Those are nice cylinders! What an extremely good fit. Will you try to lose the black lines, same as you did on the Hawker, if I remember correctly, with liquid paper? - L.

    Hi Leif

The fit on this thing if you cut it out right is great, no problems at all.

What I will do with the black lines on the cylinders is wait now until I have done the rest of the model just incase I have to do more on other parts.
I will then try to paint out the lines, using another print of this bit to test out the paints first.

I only used the liquid paper (White out) as I had no white paint left, one of those times when you look around and think what can I use.
The canopy of the Tempest was also done with liquid paper with a small amout of paint in it to colour it. I think it worked out alright!!

If when it has been painted the lines show then out will come the liquid paper again

    More of the build tonight

    Hi all

    A bit more done tonight.

Built up the wing ribs and spars and fitted the to the planes main body.
I did this now just in case I needed to get my porky fingers inside to aid the fit.
After this I started the wings to do a test fit to make shure the spar was in the right place, well it was.
Next the engines and wing tips, then these can be put to one side while I finish the main body of the plane.

I will try to post a little more later.

    Well back to the build

How big is this one please, you could almost convert it to a Horten. Crisp and clean as ever

Second and last bit for tonight, OK you can stop cheering now!!!

Fitted the first engine, the other are not dry enough to fit.
As I hate hanging around for glue to dry I fitted another section of the body and started the tail fins.

    More tomorrow night

    Hi all

Thanks for the kind words guys

The model is about 35cm in length and has a wing span of 40 cm, its big!!

I have a Horten 229B night fighter in 1/33 by Fly Model, I might have a go at that next.

    More tonight

    Hi Nobi

The design on this bird is great mate and it all fits very well :D

    If not a Bear how about a FW 200 Condor-6 of KG 40 With Hs anti-ship missiles :D :D
    Or a Do 18

I would buy any of the three (third being the Bear)

    Hi all

Almost finished the body of the plane, one tail section and then the end caps to do.
After this I will glue on the wings, I have also just started the whells so I hope to get them fitted tonight.
With luck I will have this done tomorrow

If any of you are going to build this (I would, I intend to build it again)
A little tip would be, when you cut out the body sections of both the plane and tank cut just inside of the heavy black lines. This will remove the problem of the black joint lines (my fault not the design). I should have done this when I first cut the parts out

    More later

    Rob

PS Barry I think it would have to be about 40 to 50 units to start with, more would be better

Really coming out great, Rob...I don't mind those lines, sort of looks like panel lines to me. :D

What is the printed color of this beauty...white or light gray?

Just a thought, but a model of the Bear would be awesome printed out on metallic silver paper! I know I saw some experiments in printing with laminated aluminum but there might be someone who has a better source for metallic paper that would fit the bill.

Something about that bright red star on a shiney metallic surface, rather striking, I think.

I don't recall coming across ANY model of the Bear anywhere else...so it would have the unique factor of being the only one out there...might help in sales, wouldn't it? What scale would it be in...I would like to see 1/33, but that might be too much but think of the detail you could have. 8)

Might be a good idea to take a poll and see how many people would have an interest in that beauty. Can I vote ten times?

    Cheers!

    Jim
