I admire anyone who can turn 2d into 3d and figure out how to make it easy for the rest of us.

My Porter Locomotive has blown more head gaskets than Nitris Oxide!

    Keep on keeping on Yaniv.

    Suggestions for a Dak?

Well there was this version, not too many made, and it was the fastest variation of the old girl.

Not to mention that I groomed her for a few years.

    Hi Yaniv,

for the tail, you'll have to add the fillet which runs from about where the aft edge of the last window is up until the lower edge of the de-icer boot. See the profile picture of the starboard side on the link I posted.

    Yaniv,

Let me preface this by saying two things.
    1. You have been, and I expect you will continue to do a FANTASTIC job on the C-47.
    2. I am not a designer (yet) and have not worked with Rhino (yet). Some day:)

I looked at your uploaded screen captures and something seemed unusual. I don't think it is the tail, that looks fine. I think it is the last segment of your fuselage. The shape should taper to below where the tail fin extends. I have tried to sketch what I see on your photos and attached them below. On the red view, the black line is what I see as the contour of the fuselage and the green line is what I think it should look like. On the line drawing, the heavy black line is where the contour should be.

Here is a photo that shows the fuselage contour pretty well in the tail area:

Anyone with more experience, please correct me if I am wrong

    Hey John,

Yep, the needle nosed Dak was the radar trainer for the 104, of course going from interpreting the radar picture at the rather sedate cruising speed of the Douglas Racer, to the Silver Sliver at the speed of heat was a wee bit of a challange

    Hi Yaniv,

Yep, 104 radome on Pinnocchio, Dolly's Folly, and Woody Woodpecker (all the Canadain Dakotas with this mod were given names. Woody was lost in Northern Saskatchewan in the early 60's, but I had the privilege of working on both Pinnocchio and Dolly's Folly in the late 70's, early 80's).

What exactly do you mean by tail? The vertical tailplane with rudder, the horizontal with elevators, the tail cone aft of the cargo door, or any combination of these?
