Tail is not easy. This is your first model so don't expect to get everything correct every single time. Let me assure you that you will be making changes to you model many times in the future. If you want to stick to the tail and try to fix it, go ahead. Just don't try to make this model perfect. Make it so that it makes you happy, and if you have very high expectations, I would like you to look at my post from a while ago about being a perfectionsit.

Good job so far. Keep it that way

PS One thing that opened my eyes is what some people here told me. Don't try to scale the real plane down because you will never be happy. You have to design so that the plane looks like the real one but at the same time it is easy to assemble from paper. That means changing the appearance a little, moving things here and there, not having all the parts perfectly round. Aim for simplicity.

Seems a dumb question but can do the tail seperately and sink it down into the fuselage and run an autofit(blend) on it, sorry do not know the right terms

this is a great project in kit bashing.

use this c47, and trotskiy has several seaplanes, take a pair of his pontoons,
and enlarge them to fit the the C47, jury rig the struts and your done.

Don't worry that's what most designers do :D

That's why you often see a bunch of models coming out from one designer at once and then one year of silence~~
