this is my cardboard girl
see more of her here..
Bert ... it's kinda funny. If you were not showing talent. I would say this is spam pimping a porn site. (2 posts and talk of 'real doll' at this time).
I tip my hat to your talent. =)
Down the road I want to get in a position (redevelope 3D skills and finese card design ability) to release some 1:6 scale paper figures of Famous WW2 Units around the world. First one for me will be close to home ... Infantryman of the West Nova Scotia Regiment 'West Novies' spoke of in the book titled 'D-Day Dodgers'. Canadians who landed at Sicily.
Even though your Cardboard Woman has nothing to do with this project it inspires me. Wow!
Hey, I dated that girl, I mean, how many one armed no hands girls can there be?
I don't consider that paper modeling. That is what I call paper "art".
That's some beautiful work, Bert!
Apparently as many as you'd like to print.
Wow. I mean, wow. That's just amazing. Great work!
but...but...I didn't see the download link??? lol
Very Beautiful!!! and WELCOME!!!
Kind of reminds me of a female Kryton . . .Smeg . . but a lot more enticing!!
That is beautiful. I agree with Amazyah - that's not a model, that's art. In fact it puts be in mind of a life size sculpture of a woman by Anthony Gormley that stands in the crypt of Winchester Cathedral.
Stunning. I'm in awe.
Hallo Bert, welkom op dit forum..Jij komt ook uit Rotterdam geloof ik?
There's a real nice bunch of people hanging around here, and there are a lot designers member here, exchanging toughts and tips...
I've been looking at your work for a while, posted a thread on your selfportret in cardboard, amazing stuff..It's not ordenary modeling, but art You're website is very good, too !It's here folks..http://www.bertsimons.nl/album/projects/index.html
@steveO: You're right, and you could reprint the warn out parts when you needed to, cheers to cardboard love.
While looking at your site, I noticed you built a Grunau glider. Fiddler's Green has recently released a version of that glider that looked nearly identical to yours. I believe it was based off the old plans. You could have a smaller version since yours has been confiscated.
everyone for the compliments!
Billy, yes i am from Rotterdam too..and I just looked at your zwevende bellXV...mooi..mooi...ik ga toch maar s een vogelmodelletje maken denk ik
willygoat, my grunau is a sg38, i think there were many models like the zogling and the pik-4 which looked alike a lot.
Thanks for the reply, If you ever have a exhibition here in Rotterdam, or Holland, I would love to come, I'm working as a free-lance art-director/ set builder, and I have a studio in the "Duende" building in Crooswijk, so we might run into each other someday...
