You say solid wire, will regular CAT5 work for the cabling?

Sorry I don't know what cats is. If it is stranded wire no. You might get it to work sometimes but it will caues trouble eventually. use solid wire and be finished with it.The female connectors that go on the facia of your layout have slots the wire goes into, when I put the wire in the slot I let a few inches go through and stick out to slice to for next plur. there are special connectors for this. It sounds complicated but it isn;t. be patient take your time and think

Abit off topic, how many amps does Prodigy Advance 2 supply? Tony's Trains says only 2.5 amps, kinda low compared to it's competitors right?

They now supply 3.5 amps.

I went ahead and bought the Prodigy Express because it was 100 dollars less than PA2. The only drawback which i think will affect me is the read back CV function. I guess i have to get a notebook and write down every single changes i do to CV.
