I've ordered the MRC Prodigy Advance Squared and notice on Tony's Train Exchange there is a notice about the power supply being de-rated to 2.5 amps and recommending the use of an MF615 power supply to get the full 3.5 amps of power that MRC claims the unit will support. The MRC site states that the power supply that comes with the unit is a 15 Volt DC rated at 3.5 amps. This site states that the Magna Force 615 is a 15 volt AC unit rated at 5 amps.
My question is this: If I connect the Magna Force to my MRC system, will it cause a problem since I've gone from DC to AC?
Thanks in advance,

Call Tony's and ask. I believe MRC has now upgraded the original power supply that shipped with the PA2. If you do wind up with the MF615, no damage will result. The PA2 will simply use up to its maximum 3.5 amps. It works the same as you house's main panel. There may be a 200 amp main but the draw is only the total of what's running/turned on.
