I just purchased a Mrc advanced extension plate. They give you 2 10ft. cables. I dont want to run the cable across the floor I want to route it under the table which will be alot further than 10ft.. I know they use a rj45 cable so my question is can I go to Radio Shack or another electronics store and have one made up? Will I loose respond time to the base unit if I run longer cables? Thanks for any help. Rob.

Just use Cat5 outlets and what ever length Ethernet cable you want - send the MRC plate back LOL

Thanks Dave. I will hold onto the MRC plate and order up some cable. New to the DCC thing and learning day by day. Thanks again, Rob.
