More DaVinci

    I built his helicopter design from a mixed media kit several years ago. The frame is wood and the airscrew is paper. I painted the airscrew in oils using motifs I gleaned from Internet sources. It has suffered some damage over the years because the airscrew is so fragile.

    I made the oak base in my shop, and there is a clock motor underneath to rotate the helo.

    Have you ever seen that show "Doing DaVinci" (I think it's on the history channel) where they build full sized working versions of his designs? I saw them do his tank and his siege tower, it was very cool.

    They also built a horse-driven scythe. This thing would have been a holy terror on the battlefield.
